About
One of my strongest traits is my curiosity …. about people, life and the world. I get a lot of things from photography, and connection is the major one. I am a naturally shy person so it’s my way of connecting with the world. The excitement that I get from producing images that people will be able to treasure for years to come, almost outweighs the enjoyment from the technical and creative challenge it poses. But most of all, seeing people show their true selves to me in the real moments of vulnerability is a real honor to witness, as it takes a lot of trust, and knowing I can do that for people is very humbling. Meeting new people has become part of my journey and is an adventure in itself, so I have the utmost respect for people, family and culture. My other passions are animals, vintage collecting, baking, film and the arts, among many other things.
Experience
After Art School Jean moved from Texas, where she grew up, to NYC to pursue her career. She was in her 20’s and she worked as an art gallery assistant. After a year spent in Milan Italy working in well known photo gallery she returned to NYC to work full time as a photographer. She eventually shot portraits, lifestyle features, interiors and gardens for Martha Stewart, House Beautiful, Vogue, The New York Times, Vanity Fair, World of Interiors and many other publications. It was only after moving to the Hudson Valley 15 years ago, that a caterer asked her if she would be interested in photographing a wedding for a client who did not want a “wedding photographer” but someone with a more artistic eye. She photographed that wedding… and loved it… and the rest…. as they say is history!
